Design of the new Nissan Qashqai: more determined
Wapcar Automotive News – The history of the Nissan Qashqai begins with the search for an alternative to the C-class sedan. There have been cars like the Nissan Almera (Nissan Almera colors are various.)and Nissan Tiida – and the first Nissan Qashqai was created more than just an SUV. compact but also like a small SUV. an alternative to these sedans (yes, yes, there are sedans in this lineup as well, but we’re talking sedans for now). However, this doesn’t take away from the model’s bold testability: for example, there is a 7-seater Nissan Qashqai+2.
However, the “second” Nissan Qashqai has clearly defined the direction of the model’s development: we have an SUV in front of us! Larger size, more masculine design. And the third generation can add a few points to this list – more assertive and more elegant. The first generation Nissan Qashqai tries to strike a balance between sedan and SUV.
The second generation is clearly defined as belonging to the SUV world: SUVs have become bigger and bolder in design. The third generation does not increase too much in size (4.43 m long; 1.84 m wide; 1.62 m high; 2.67 m wheelbase; +20-35 mm more overall dimensions) , but there is a noticeable change in design – the new Nissan Qashqai seems to be more assertive and stylish from the outside.
And it gets more modern and better inside. Just look at the interior design:
massive front panel and powerful center console, dedicated “climate” unit with physical switches, 9-inch display installed separately from the multimedia system, instrument panel 12.3 inch digital, comfortable steering wheel with wide spokes. The front part of the interior looks like we have a more premium car.
On the back end, however, everything comes standard:
a normal space, a ventilation deflector, a palm rest and a few charging ports. As if not bad, but it doesn’t impress the imagination and has no added benefits. Although (stop!) There is one important advantage:
The third Nissan Qashqai received a new rear-door hinge design, allowing the rear door to open almost perpendicular to the body – very practical for occupants or child restraints! And the trunk has a 2-level floor, a lid power socket and a side pocket for small items. The Nissan Qashqai SUV has always been a master of the art of transportation – and the new one doesn’t betray these rules!
The front part of the interior attracts with its design and details:
it’s like a car in a higher class! There’s no such excitement in the back, but there’s everything needed for a comfortable life – enough space, armrests and ventilation, comfortable seats. But the chest deserves a special mention:

Technology: a familiar background and a new “heart”
Overall, the new Nissan Qashqai seems to echo its predecessor:
CMF-C platform, independent front and rear suspension, horizontal 4-cylinder engine, front- or all-wheel drive, versions available with manual or automatic transmission in kit form variability. But really a lot has changed. For example, aluminum and composite materials were used in the body structure – in the end the car weighed just over 6 kg, despite the increased size and equipment. In addition, a new Xtronic variator has now been installed, which can move the cones faster – meaning improved “linearity” and predictability of controllability. acceleration.
However, I think the most significant change is the appearance of a 1.3 DIG-T 4-cylinder petrol engine, which combines a turbine with a direct fuel injection system. Depending on the specific modification of the car, such an engine produces 130 hp. and 240 Nm (for versions with a mechanical transmission) or 150 hp. and 250 Nm (for automatic transmission). Or even more! This is all because hybrid versions of the Nissan Qashqai with MHEV (meaning “light hybrid”) technology have been announced for Ukraine. There’s a small electric bonus to the 1.3-liter “turbo” and an increase in power to 140 hp. (for versions with a mechanical transmission) even 158 hp. (for versions with automatic transmission).
Control: good acceleration, great comfort
These are the two main points that mark the personality of the new Nissan Qashqai. A small turbo gives a lot of torque from the top of the tachometer scale: this is the case when the specs don’t leave you in doubt. We just hit 1.5-1.8k revs – and immediately got reliable traction and acceleration.
And this happens 5-6 thousand times: the engine produces every promised “horsepower” and every “newton” of torque. And the new Xtronic automatic transmission perfectly meets its technical descriptions. It has virtually no traditional elongated “variable rubber”, instead providing an almost direct “engine-to-wheel” connection and smooth operation when gear ratios change.
I remember how the “second” Nissan Qashqai tried to strike a balance between handling and suspension comfort, as if it offered an average. Instead, the “third” Nissan Qashqai seems to have clearly chosen sides – and that’s comfort. Here everything on the road is not bad, the car obeys the normal steering wheel, does not resist corners, the body is tilted moderately. But all this does not “ignite fire” in the eyes of the driver and does not linger in his memory. But the comfort, smoothness and energy efficiency of the new Nissan Qashqai’s suspension remains. It carries the driver and passengers very carefully, trying to avoid even the slightest collision into potholes.
