Water slides are one of the many great things about summertime! With the hot sun and steamy air, getting out and cooling off in the water can be a welcome relief from the heat. Some people even like going to water parks just to go down all of the fun water slides! But with so many water parks across the country, how do you choose which one to go to? We’ve done some research and found some great tips to visit a slide park this summer!

Why you should go to water slide parks

Water slides parks are a great way to spend your day when you’re looking for some fun. They offer amusement parks and theme parks with slides, or just single slides that you can use on your own. If you’re looking for something a little more relaxing, they also have lazy rivers, water playgrounds, and splash pads where kids can play in the fountains. You’ll find plenty of fun for everyone at these great destinations during the hot summer months. At an amusement park, you can choose from a variety of attractions including roller coasters and other thrill rides, as well as kiddie rides like merry-go-rounds and swings. For the less adventurous there is usually a selection of carnival games available too. Theme parks usually offer all the same types of attractions as well as live shows, restaurants, shops, and other activities.

Water Slides Parks you can visit in your country

The Aquatica Orlando is a water slides park in Florida, it has a wave pool, lazy river, and two slides. The surf lagoon is located right next to a sand volleyball court. One of their two slides is called the Abyss and it’s one of the tallest slides in Orlando.
Another amusement park with slides is Canada’s Wonderland which has four big body slides and three kids’ slides. The other theme parks with water park features are Europa-park in Germany, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, and Universal Studios Singapore. They all have various slides and pools, just like any other water park.
Europa-park in Germany offers twelve different attractions, including their Splash Battle ride where riders can shoot each other with jets of water as they’re racing down a twisting track. Meanwhile, at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi you can experience Formula Rossa for an adrenaline-pumping ride. Lastly, Universal Studios Singapore has numerous high-speed slides to choose from like the Green Lantern Coaster and Hollywood Dream Rider which were specially designed for adults who want that extra thrill while sliding into cool watery depths.

10 tips for having a great time at the park

  1. Check the park’s website or call ahead to find out what their hours are, and plan your visit accordingly.
  2. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear sunscreen or bug spray as needed.
  3. Bring snacks, drinks, and a change of clothes for after your visit—especially if you’re going during a hot day of an extended weekend when most people will be there too.
  4. If you have someone with mobility issues, it might be better to look into water slides that have ramped up to the entrance rather than stairs.
  5. Make sure they offer a refund policy so you can get your money back in case things don’t work out.
  6. Read reviews before making any decisions about which slides might be right for you and your group.
  7. You may want to bring along some dry clothes to put over wet bathing suits once you’re done at the park.
  8. Try not to consume too many sugary foods before your visit so you’ll have enough energy left for all those fun attractions.
  9. Avoid sunburn by wearing sunscreen with SPF 30+ and protective clothing such as long sleeves, hats, sunglasses, and closed-toe shoes while visiting a water park or amusement/theme parks slides.
  10. Be aware of safety rules before sliding down a water slide. They should always tell you how to prepare (e.g., how far away from other people to stand, whether you need swimwear), what to do (e.g., hold onto both rails until you reach the bottom) and anything else that could keep you safe (e.g., no headfirst flips).
