After all, the vast majority of people work hard to ensure their home looks nice, so the thought of anyone doing anything to destroy all this hard work is quite a disturbing one. However, unfortunately, there are a number of people out there who will decide to destroy your home in some way, whether that is targeted or just because they felt like doing it. 1. Install an anti-loitering alarm
The anti-loitering alarm, otherwise known as a mosquito device, is an alarm that emits a high-pitched frequency sound whenever someone goes anywhere near it. This is especially good if you know it is mostly young people who are either likely to target your property or who have targeted your property in the past. This is because as you get older, your ability to hear high-frequency sounds starts to diminish. Therefore, if young people are hanging around outside your house, this alarm will cause them to disperse as the high-pitched sound will become too annoying for them to willingly spend any more time outside your house.
2. Get a camera doorbell
A rather new piece of technology that has become rather popular in recent years are camera doorbells. These give you the ability to constantly see anyone who walks past your house, who comes up to the house, and who rings your doorbell. It also gives you the option to talk to anyone who is at your front door. This means that even if you’re not home, if you see anyone hanging around outside your house, you can talk to them, make it out like you are home, even if you are not, and tell them they need to move on.
3. Security cameras
Security cameras are another good way of protecting your house and are something that have proven to stand the test of time. Even though unlike the camera doorbell, you cannot talk to anyone who is outside your home, these are often quite obvious to anyone who is looking at your house and should put them off vandalizing your home as they know they will be easily caught.
4. Get secure fencing/gates
Getting any form of fencing or gates outside your house is another good way to prevent your home from being vandalized. However, the issue with this is that even though it may prevent anyone from vandalizing your house, there is still the possibility that they might vandalize the fence or gate as this will make it easier for them to show off about it; so that is always worth taking into consideration.
5. Security lights
Security lights are definitely one of the better options when it comes to home security and protecting your home from vandalism. You can either get ones that come on at night, or there are ones that come on whenever they detect any motion outside your house. These should put any potential vandals off from vandalizing your house, as they know they will be easily seen if anyone else happens to walk past your house.
