8 excellent minivans you can’t buy in the United States

Autofun Philippines – Americans fell in love with pickup trucks. For some reason, a super practical multi-seater that can carry most people and everything is less common than giant SUVs that make it difficult to get into the third row. The rest of the world hasn’t forgotten the advantages of minivans, and many well-known automakers offer a wide range of family vans, some of which offer luxury features and smart camping. . Here are a few boxes of forbidden fruit that we can’t buy in the US.

Toyota Alpha

The Toyota Alphard is an epic pickup truck sold in several countries and regions including Bangladesh, China and the Middle East. It is currently in its third generation and has Lexus-like styling with a large cabin. The Alphard is available with a number of powertrain options, some of which are shared with Lexus and other Toyota models, including the ES 350 and Highlander. In terms of Toyota Alphard price Philippines, you can browse here. Toyota equips the Alphard with a number of advanced safety features, and the minivan can comfortably carry up to eight people. That said, the Alphard is more expensive than many of its rivals in the markets it’s sold in, so people may want to consider other options.

Toyota Noah/Voxy

The Toyota Noah and Voxy have been around since the early 2000s and are below the Alphard (more on that below) in the automaker’s lineup of minivans. Toyota’s sales model in Japan looks complicated from the outside, as the company sells different types of vehicles through different types of dealers. The Noah was originally sold at Toyota’s Corolla stores before the automaker converted its models to vans in all locations in 2020. Now, in its fourth generation, the cars This twin van offers unique family-friendly features such as a dashboard system and uses Toyota’s latest hybrid system.

Mitsubishi Delica

If you’ve spent time researching cars on social media, you’ve seen a Delica. They’re everywhere now, because Americans realize that a small, light pickup truck with real ground clearance and all-wheel drive is a good thing. Mitsubishi made various vehicles under the Delica name, including trucks and kei cars, but most of us recognize vans. The Delica entered its fifth generation in 2007 and was upgraded in 2019. It is still available with all-wheel drive, although Mitsubishi also sells a front-wheel drive version. Today’s minivans are light years away from the classics we can import here and have large grilles with unique front lighting fixtures.

Nissan Serena

The Nissan Serena has been around for a long time and is entering its sixth generation in 2023. Nissan offers petrol and hybrid engine options, and the pickup can accommodate up to seven people. It’s larger in most dimensions than rivals Toyota and Kia, but lighter in both. Top trim is surprisingly classy with diamond-stitched leather seats and neat features like a second-row fold-down food tray with cup holders.

Lexus LM300

The LM is a revamped Toyota Alphard, but its interior offers a luxury that its “lower” rival doesn’t. Buyers can add a second-row refrigerator, an overhead clock and a large 26-inch rear screen. There’s even the option of seating with a wall of privacy between the front passenger and others in the rear. Many people outfit the van like a rolling office, although Lexus sells a passenger-friendly version with seven seats.

Honda WGN running board

Remember the Mazda MPV? This not-so-minivan but still capable car proves that practicality doesn’t always mean you have to buy the biggest minivan you can find. Honda further proves this point with Step WGN. The Japanese truck is sold in several countries and seats six in its pretty boxy body. Depending on the model, the interior can be fitted with several screens, including a 15.6-inch rear monitor. Honda introduced a new sixth-generation pickup in early 2022 with more futuristic styling and more traditional hatchback styling, but the new pickup retains the signature Step WGN aesthetic.

Hyundai Staria

Hyundai Staria has extremely cool styling and a high-class interior. Hyundai offers several seating configurations, including one that can accommodate up to 11 seats. The Staria design was created under the guidance of Hyundai’s chief design officer, SangYup Lee, and looks straight out into space. The reverse-swipe front has hidden wipers and a unique diamond-patterned grille with “pixel” LED running lights. It offers more interior space than many of its rivals, and people love the truck’s cargo space, some of which seem overwhelming.

VW California

It’s interesting that Volkswagen sells a pickup with the California name that you can’t buy in California or anywhere else in the US for that matter. The truck has a pop-up roof to feel like an old-school camper and can accommodate up to four people. Buyers can equip a fully equipped kitchen in the car with built-in tables and chairs that can be folded away when not in use. Volkswagen sells three versions of California in the UK, none of which are cheap. California camper features can make a pickup home for the right people, and Grand California offers even more, so the price is understandable.

Why can’t we import these trucks?

Aside from the fact that people in Japan and other countries drive on the other side of the road and have right-hand drive vehicles, there are a number of disappointing but valid reasons why we can’t enter random cars. from anywhere we want. Most other countries have different emissions and safety regulations than we do, and imported vehicles may not meet the standards that new cars must meet. That said, countless companies offer import services and many will take care of all the paperwork for you. But if you’re seriously considering importing a vehicle, including a truck, you need to make sure it’s at least 25 years old to be eligible to import. That rules out many of the new trucks you see here, but there are still some appealing options for true fans, including some older Mitsubishi Delica models.
