The world of cinemas is very busy, and every month, new titles and stories are released to the delight of the public, making some of them become box office champions in 2022.

The title was a great success in all cinemas around the world and made the story of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, an airplane pilot, become the product that raised the most during the year.
In the plot, the pilot continues to fly, but now, he has the difficult mission of training a group that will form a special mission.
2. Jurassic World: Domínio
The second place on the list could not be different. That’s because the famous dinosaurs from the Jurassic World franchise have been a huge success since the first film.
With the return of the classic franchise’s all-star team, Jurassic World: Dominion grossed no less than $1 billion in 2022 worldwide.
The launch was in mid-July of this year and was responsible for closing the trilogy that began with Jurassic World: The World of Dinosaurs.
In the plot, the main focus becomes the salvation of dinosaur species that survived all over the world.
3. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
In third place on our podium is a Marvel Cinematic Universe title. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness comes in third this year with a gross of $955 million.
Its release was in May 2022 and was attended by Hollywood star Benedict Cumberbatch, the face of the main character, Doctor Strange.
In the story, the protagonist performs magic considered forbidden, which leads to the opening of a portal to the Multiverse.
4. Minions 2: A Origem de Gru
Animations also have a guaranteed spot on our list of 2022 blockbusters.
The cutest little yellows in cinema won the hearts of the public, who showed up in droves in cinemas around the world, and made the film gross US$939 million.
In addition to the public, the film also won over critics, who praised the animation, history, and graphics.
5. Batman
Our fifth place was also occupied by a hero movie and not just any one.
Gotham’s most famous bat, now starring Robert Pattinson, hit the big screen in March 2022. The film caused a buzz among fans of the character.
The film went on to become one of DC’s biggest hits to date, grossing over $770 million.
In the story, we can see a younger version of Bruce Wayne, who is in search of a murderer who has been bringing panic to the city.
6. Thor: Love and Thunder
As well as our third place, the sixth position was also occupied by a hit from Marvel Studios.
Released in July of this year, Thor: Love and Thunder is the fourth film by the hero, better known as the god of thunder.
Starring heartthrob Chris Hemsworth, the feature grossed about $760 million worldwide.
7. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever After
Our seventh place is another one of Marvel Studios’ productions. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever After is the sequel to the franchise released in 2018.
However, the film is still in theaters, and with such success, it can gain some positions among the box office champions in 2022.
With more than US$676 million raised, the title was an absolute success among fans, and a good part of this is due to the touching tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman, who gave life to the main character in the first film and passed away some time ago.
8. Water Gate Bridge
A Chinese feature takes our eighth spot with a 2022 gross of $626 million.
Water Gate Bridge is the sequel to The Battle as Take Changjin, a war film focusing on the task of Chinese People’s Volunteer soldiers as they attempt to blockade during the retreat of the US Army to the port of Xingang.
9. Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets
The film Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is the third in the franchise of films that derive from the famous Harry Potter saga.
Its premiere took place in April of this year, and it brought a legion of fans to the cinema, raising more than US$ 405 million at the box office.
In the plot, Dumbledore discovers that the villain Grindelwald plans to control the world of magic, and therefore asks Newt Scamander for help to lead a group of wizards on a mission full of dangers.
10. Sonic 2 – A Movies
And last but not least, we have Sonic 2 – The Movie, the sequel to Sonic The Movie.
Launched in April of this year, the title grossed over US$402 million worldwide, thus becoming a great success among audiences of all ages.
With a mixture of comedy and adventure, the story won the hearts of the public, especially children, who attended the cinemas in droves. This consecrated the film with one of the biggest box office champions of 2022 so far.
