There have been clear reports of new Ford territory arriving in Mexico. This model is a small SUV of Ford called Equator in China. Now that the Ford Territory is set to enter the Mexican market on October 5, the rumors seem to be true.
Ford and Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC) in China jointly manufacture the Equator, as it is known in the Chinese market. It builds on the Asian automaker’s platform, which, like the current model, is also offered in the Philippines. In Mexico, it will be available in three levels for the 2023 model year:
Ambience, Trends and Titanium. The Ford Territory 2023 is equipped with a 1.8-liter Turbo Ecoboost engine that produces 187 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, driving the front wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission, according to the report. And the Ford Territory price would not beyond people’s expectation.
Ford Territory 2023 has the following dimensions:
4.62 meters long, 1.70 meters high and 1.93 meters wide with side mirrors.
Depending on the version, the 2023 Ford Territory can accommodate five people in leather, vinyl or fabric seats. Only the Titanium version has leather upholstery on the steering wheel.
The only versions with panoramic roof and electrochromic mirrors are this and the Trend; The mirror automatically dims so the driver does not have to adjust to avoid dazzle.
On the tech front, the 2023 territory will get a 12-inch wireless touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a seven- or 12-inch dash, depending on the variant.
Only the Titanium level, which combines eight speakers for the music system and six for Ambiente and Trend, has wireless charging for the phone.
Six airbags, ABS brakes, automatic brake force distribution, a rearview camera for Trend and Titanium models, stability and traction control and other safety features will be standard on the Ford Territory. 2023 when going to Mexico.
Driver-assist features such as front and rear sensors, blind-spot monitoring, downhill control and hill-start assist, tire pressure monitoring system, lane “only on Titanium models” and control Itinerary is also added.
The current Ford Territory remains among the best-selling SUVs in the local market two years after arriving in the Philippines.
Ford Philippines delivered 3,691 Territory vehicles in the first half of 2022, up 11% year-on-year. In the small SUV category, Ford Territory holds 52% of the market share. With deliveries of 1,574 units last June, Territory recorded its best monthly retail results. The territory passed the 10,000th revenue milestone earlier this year.
