Snapmaker Launches the Award-Winning Artisan 3-in-1 3D Printer with Enclosure

Artisan, the latest 3-in-1 3D printer by Snapmaker, it’s a top-tier 3D printer that has been awarded CES 2023 Innovation Award, Red Dot in the Red Dot Award: Product Design [2023], and iF Design Award 2023. With its all-metal modular design and advanced features, it was selected as one of the winners among over 10,000 entries.

Artisan takes desktop fabrication to the next level, introducing industrial-grade transmission technology to provide users with a fast, accurate, and steady-making experience. The all-metal design features steel guide rails that are made by CNC grinding at the micron level, providing precision, rigidity, and durability. Artisan’s linear modules make it stand out from other 3D printers on the market, ensuring that the machine is stronger and more accessible than ever.

Unlike many other 3D printers, Artisan has a large 400 mm × 400 mm × 400 mm work area, which means users can create big or multiple objects with ease. It’s perfect for people who have limited space and never want to put their ideas on hold.

Artisan also features an upgraded one-piece die-cast base plate that ensures stability even during high-speed CNC machining. The ultra-wide 7″ touchscreen provides a broader vision and smoother workflow. The UI design is intuitive, and the operation is ergonomically optimized.

Compared with Snapmaker 2.0, Artisan is fully improved in printing speed, precision, filament compatibility, and accessibility, making it the best 3D printer in the market. It features ± 0.1 mm dimensional accuracy when printing at a high speed of 180 mm/s, thanks to the optimized transmission system and motion control algorithm.

Artisan’s Dual Extrusion 3D Printing Module enables fast swap of tool heads and platforms, as well as hot ends. Luban detects nozzle sizes and types and offers customized configurations for the user’s convenience. With the module’s motor built-in, it can automatically lift and shift between two extruders, enabling faster and quieter dual-extrusion 3D printing. The module also supports PVA, HIPS, and other dissolvable materials, making complex geometry no longer a problem.

Artisan can automatically level the heated bed, calibrate the Z offset of the two extruders, and calibrate the XY offset with a semi-auto program. In just three steps, users can enjoy dual-material or bicolor printing with perfect adhesion and alignment.

Artisan’s new build plate is made of glass with higher flatness, ensuring a smoother and more adhesive first layer. It has glossy glass on one side and PEI coating on the other side, aiding in the adhesion of various filaments.

With the latest 10W Laser Module, Artisan is capable of faster and deeper cutting on more materials, delivering refined laser engraving. The Laser Beam Splitters and beam shaping optics enable the laser module to feature a 10W high power and an ultra-fine laser focus, allowing for high-quality laser works with impeccable details. The triangulation technology calculates the thickness of materials and completes auto-focus in seconds, and the wide-angle camera captures the material in one take, giving users an instant preview of their laser job in Luban.

Equipped with a 200W CNC Module, Artisan further improves the CNC performance, while keeping the ER11 collet, customized clamp sets, and dust-proof design that are highly acclaimed by users, offering a new desktop CNC experience. The CNC module has increased by 300% in power and 50% in maximum spindle speed, making it six times faster in machining on hardwood like beech.

The Snapmaker Artisan 3D printer is equipped with an enclosure that lowers the laser classification from Class 4 to Class 1. With the door-detection sensor in the enclosure, Artisan can halt the laser or CNC operation automatically in the event of any door opening. Additionally, the laser module contains a gyro sensor that prevents the emission of laser beams if the module moves away from its assigned position. Moreover, if the temperature sensor detects an excessively high temperature above 55°C/131°F, the laser module ceases to function on its own Read more
