The accessory SUV is available in three versions and only has a seven-seat interior, while the pre-reformed model still has a five-seat version, Geely Okavango 2023. Compared to the old SUV, the price has gone up, and not bad.
The crossover Geely HaoYue (sort of like “hao-Yue”) debuted in 2020 and underwent restructuring in 2021. However, the large SUV was not successful:
According to Auto Philippines, a total of 38,706 units were sold in China last year. For comparison, the results of the Chery Tiggo 8 family for the same period exceeded 160,000 copies there. But Geely doesn’t even think about giving up its SUV:
the cross has been modernized again, only much more serious. At the same time, the HaoYue of the 2021 model is still used, but in order not to confuse the cars, the prefix in the form of the letter L has been assigned to the new version. One such crossover was fully opened in November, but sales have now begun in the Celestial Empire.
Elka with original front and back:
the model received a huge grille with more dramatic vertical wedges, new bumpers, headlights and lights (headlights and headlights are now also unified by a functional band), as well as The back door has been replaced. The length of the crossover increased by 25 mm to 4860 mm, the width increased by 10 mm (now 1910 mm), height – 1770 mm (-10 mm). In addition, the wheelbase has increased by 10 mm – now 2825 mm.
Inside – a new steering wheel, door cards and box selector, in addition, the airflow deflector is made in the form of a single matrix, and the central tunnel is also modernized. The Geely HaoYue L is offered exclusively with a 7-seat interior, while the pre-reform SUV is also available with a 5-seater.
Under the hood of the Elka is Volvo’s 2.0-liter Drive-E four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, producing 218 horsepower. and 325 Nm, the engine is mated to a seven-speed robotic transmission with two clutches. As before, the drive is front only. It is announced that HaoYue L will reach the first “hundred” after 7.9 seconds. The accessory-free crossover is powered by a Geely-designed 1.8 turbo (184 hp, 300 Nm) engine, which is mated to a regular 6-speed automatic transmission or a 7DCT.
The Geely HaoYue L is offered with three trim levels (the 2021 SUV model has six versions). “At the base” has LED optics (matrix headlights), 19-inch wheels (for single cross versions without prefix – 18 inches), leather interior, 10 virtual storage .25 inch (same equipment is based on improved pre-SUV), multimedia – 12.3 inch touch screen system, air conditioning, rear view camera, cruise control and valet parking. In the “intermediate” version, there are rain and light sensors, a panoramic sunroof, a panoramic camera and an electric tailgate.
The top-of-the-line HaoYue L also includes heated and ventilated front seats, mood lighting, adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring and marker tracking. For an additional fee, you can order a 2.2-meter tent or mattress (this was also provided for the pre-reform crossover).
Geely HaoYue L prices range from $18,300 to $21,200. An SUV without a prefix today costs between $14,800 and $20,000. In its pre-reformed form, the Geely three-row crossover was also sold outside the Celestial Empire – in some places it was called Okavango. But the company has not announced its intention to introduce this model to the Russian market.
