Streamer Ainrun takes Elden Ring to the extreme. The player completes the game in 2.5 hours without taking any hits or dying.
Elden Ring can be described as entertaining, grindy, and extremely difficult. FromSoftware’s action role-playing game is notorious for being one of the most hardcore RPG games. With all the challenges it provides, many players are looking to earn prestige and recognition by speed running its content. One notable speedrunner has farmed Elden Ring items in record time.
Player Completes Elden Ring Without Dying in 2.5 Hours
Many hardcore gamers have attempted and succeeded in making no-death runs in most FromSoftware games. In fact, no death or no damage runs are relatively common in titles such as Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Bloodborne; however, one player has taken the extreme by finishing the game in 2.5 hours without dying or leveling up. He mainly relied on his Elden Ring weapons and armor to get through the ordeals.
Streamer Ainrun has achieved an unbelievable feat by taking on challenges that no one else dared to do. Aside from not taking any hits and dying, he also chose not to skip the basic bosses players have to fight at the beginning of the game. Many speed runners choose not to challenge these encounters since it delays their runs. Ainrun decided not to forgo these fights, which included facing the Grafted Scion, the first elite in the game where most players are expected to die.
The streamer has been doing no-hit runs since 2020, starting with the infamous Soul Series. When questioned about his choice to not skip the first set of bosses, he stated that avoiding the fights with these elites–mainly the Grafted Scion–breaks the pre-determined sequence set by the developers.
In the streamer’s opinion, challenges shouldn’t have shortcuts, so they should always opt for the proper route, even if it’s difficult. Ainrun cleared the game by focusing on a gear set that staggers enemy bosses. This tactic allows him to make hit-and-run movements, which ensures he deals massive damage while being able to dodge every attack.
Which Bosses Were the Trickiest to Fight?
According to Ainrun, two bosses posed a significant challenge to him. These enemies included Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, and Gideon Ofnir. Rykard had tons of ground shock attacks in his serpent form, which can be extremely difficult to fight. Ainrun eliminated the Lord of Blasphemy before he entered this state. Meanwhile, Ofnir requires players to crouch-poke him to knock him down, which can be very time-consuming.
Elden Ring in Steam
Elden Ring still remains one of the most popular and most played Steam games in recent years. The action-adventure RPG game climbed to the top of the leaderboard alongside Lost Ark. The game peaked at around 952,523 in player counts. These days, recent statistics have shown that the average number of concurrent players has dropped to approximately 100,000, which is still more than most games.
Elden Ring Leaks
Elden Ring is notoriously complex, as most players (besides speed runners) are constantly challenged by the game’s encounters. Data leaks have shown that the game could have been much more difficult. Recent rumors about Malenia indicate that she could have been more aggressive and more challenging to deal with if the devs hadn’t patched her. The Blade of Miquella is one of the game’s most challenging enemies, so players should be thankful that she was dialed down.
In another leak, details about the potential Elden Ring DLC have been made available to the public. The expansion is titled Barbarians of the Badlands. The information gathered from the leak was made possible by a recent ransomware attack on FromSoftware by a group known as ALPHV.
Not Too Late to Play Elden Ring
While the hype to play Elden Ring has died down, it remains a delightful game for those who are looking for a challenge. Players who have not yet experienced grinding and improving their Elden Ring weapons should try out the game if given a chance. The game’s price has decreased, so there is no better time to play Elden Ring.
